I thought it was fine before, but it's always fun to change things up–add some sprinkles! ;) Hmm…you could include a Calgary weather monitor (in Fahrenheit, of course), so as to make us MO/IL people feel sorry for you. I do like the idea of having other contributors. And you should totally do something with Flash! Oh, I did think of something. You could try to disable smart quotes and the like in your post titles–my browser doesn't care for them. Also, when I subsribe to a comment feed, it seems to take a long time (like 24 hours) for new comments to show up. (I have no idea if that is something you can help).

I don't much care for how Wordpress munges quotes either - but the real annoyance there is the nightmare of how it reformats spacing. I'll have to see if there is someway I can change things in all future posts while leaving the past unaffected - otherwise I am sure it will break.
I pretty much despise Flash for anything serious. I've heard it's a nice platform for animation, however.
What are your thoughts on avatars? I currently have a gravatar plugin installed, but it seems rather obtrusive when nobody uses them. I'm thinking of switching to "favatars" or perhaps I can just personally assign avatars, since there are so few commenters anyway.
I downloaded a plugin to allow people to get emails on any post they've posted on, but it might take a bit of work to set up. I think the best solution is to dynamically generate a feed for an email address, that will only report comments after your post. However, I haven't seen a plugin to do that, so I'd have to code it myself.
I was kidding about the Flash. :) After looking up what an avatar is…I think they are fun. I never have any good ideas for mine, though. I think you choosing what you think represents your friends would be entertaining.
I don't suggest using Flash. I've not used it myself, but everyone at school absolutely hates working with it. Apparently the only way to create anything in it is to do it frame by frame, which can take a loooong time, and unless you're really serious about wanting to work with it, it sounds pretty awful.
One thing I would suggest are some colored backgrounds for each section. At the moment, my screen shows the entire background as white, and much as I like the clean look, I tend to like sections being easy to tell apart at a glance. (For example, another photo background for the header box, some color behind the recent comments section, etc.)
I'll have to teach myself how to code web pages sometime, since that's where a lot of the business is in the design world now.
I think I've got the posts and comments looking about like I want them too - I'm hoping to AJAXify the comments a bit eventually, though that is by no means a priority. "Recent comments" looks nothing like what I want it to, but it's nice to have there until I can put in the work to make it look nice. I do need to fix the header sometime, and completely disable smart quotes.

Yes. BTW, as I work out the new site design does anyone have any priorities for what must be fixed first; what must be included, etc.?

Making sure I can get through all the anti-spam plugins I just installed.
